Entrepreneurship/Commercialization HUB – XLerateHealth
This session will walk participants through the Southeast XLerator Network’s plans to Spur Innovation in under-resourced states in the Southeast IDeA state region. Join us to learn how the National Institute of Health’s STTR award to the Southeast IDeA State region will help to move scientific discoveries and technologies out of the lab and into the market. Representatives from both XLerateHealth (small business leading this effort in the Southeast Region) and the University of Kentucky (Lead Academic Partner) will share their experiences in this effort that encompasses 24 academic institutions across our 6 states and Puerto Rico. This session will provide participants with information about how the "networked hub” will help them: connect to mentors and other researchers throughout their region, leverage assets in their region, collaborate across universities, learn more about commercialization, and be better prepared to successfully write and receive SBIR funding. The session will also provide some real world examples of researchers who are using these tools and how these tools and programmatic activities have helped them move their technologies from "lab to market”.
